79C Maplewood

Route 79C came into PAT's route structure in 1964 from the Burrelli Transit Service route, Wilkinsburg-Maplewood. The route can be traced back to Burrelli to late 1949 when the owner of the company took over routes from a small independent operator called Miller Bus Lines which went out of business in 1949. The official PUC transfer of this route from the former Miller operation to the Burrelli operation occurred on August 15, 1950. It is not currently known how long Miller Bus Lines operated the route.

Garages assigned to the 79C:

Route Disposition:

Route was discontinued in 1975 as a cost cutting move due to low ridership. Very limited service was still provided to the area through a new extention of the 67E. The E-9 schedules continued show the Maplewood service but as the revised 67E limited service.
